@Luiz: I fixed this by creating a symbolic link
$ ln -s /Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php5.4.19/ /Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php5.3.20
but now: /usr/bin/drush: line 129: /Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php5.4.19/bin/: is a directory
/usr/bin/drush: line 129: exec: /Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php5.4.19/bin/: cannot execute: Undefined error: 0
