Recommended database charset and collation for Drupal 7

Drupal 7.50 introduced multi-byte UTF-8 support. 

The recommended charset is: 

utf8mb4

And the recommended collation is: 

utf8mb4_general_ci

WordPress recommends utf8mb4_unicode_ci.
